After realizing that there were two different goals of the students coming through our doors, we developed Jacksonville Centre of the Arts, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to meet the growing demand for funds to produce an advanced dancer who wished to pursue a career in dance. NCA became the training ground or feeder school to Jacksonville Centre of the Arts (JCA) Pre-Professional Program, which is an audition-based program for students who exemplify a more advanced level of dance. Our goal for the community has always been to provide programs for children who are interested in the Arts and to develop local talent with an appreciation within the Arts. Today, NCA/JCA program trains 148 dancers with the same premise that began so many years ago. Growth, intensity, and artistic excellence have been the driving force of JCA from inception in July 2001. Currently, the Centre offers intensive training for ages six through adult. The intensive program was designed to meet the growing need for quality training, performance experience, resume building, and internships to ultimately create a well-rounded artist on and off stage.
