Northside Center of the Arts Recreational program (NCA) was created in 1997 on the Northside of Jacksonville. NCA offered dance classes to a community that had not been exposed, starving for quality technique/performance, desiring positive change, and a higher level of expectations for the fine arts. This school was the “brain child” of Kezia Rolle, which began its first day with 30 eager students and 3 instructors, including the late Conrad Lewis. NCA offered a number of recreational classes in various forms of dance and physical fitness. The school was designed to train and offer exposure to students on a beginner to intermediate level. Students trained one to four hours a week in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, and Hip-hop for students ages three through adult.
