JCA have trained over 500 students through its intensive dance program. Currently 80 students are enrolled in a 50 hr/wk Pre-Professional Program. Our students commitment and success has been received on stage through performances at the Jaguars half-time shows, Ritz Theatre and LaVilla Museum, partnership with the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, performances at the World of Nations, River City Kids Day, The Links, Jacksonville Children’s Commission, Mayor’s Christmas Party, Black Expo, Super Bowl Kick-Off Celebration, Celebrity Basketball Game, and the Super Bowl half-time show with Paul McCartney. In addition, our team became the directors for the inaugural season of Jacksonville’s “The Chocolate Nutcracker” production in 2012 and 2013.
JCArts has the highest success rate of any other dance program in the Jacksonville area. Our students have been accepted into programs at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem, The Juilliard School, Joffrey Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre (New York), Cincinnati Ballet (Ohio), Alonzo King Lines Ballet (California), Bates Dance Festival (Maine), Southern Methodist University, Jacksonville University (Jacksonville), Sierra Dance Festival (Nevada), Atlanta Dance Festival (Atlanta), Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival (Massachusetts), Ailey/Fordham University (New York City), University of Alabama, New World School of the Arts (Miami), and Boston Conservatory (MA). Many of the graduates have and are dancing internationally in Montreal, Japan, and Egypt, just to name a few, making them successful in receiving some of the highest level jobs a dancer could receive in the country.
